News from the Principal
Dear Stratton families:
A quick reminder that we will have Dr. Ally Magalhaes, Literacy Instructional Coach, and Stewart Deck, Math support teacher, at the next PTO coffee this Friday. Ally and Stewart will be presenting briefly on how students can maintain their achievement level during the Summer, and answer more generally parents’ questions about programming at Stratton School in these two areas. Please join us!
News from the PTO
From the Co-Presidents
It’s the calm before the storm here at Stratton this week: literally, as we keep the halls quiet while our fourth and fifth graders take MCAS, and figuratively as we prepare for all the excitement of next week. Join the fun!
Teacher Appreciation Week plans are in full swing, as we get ready to celebrate our wonderful faculty ALL next week. Class parents are busy planning surprises and treats for their classroom teachers, while the PTO provides a few special all-school celebrations. The Stratton tradition–treasured by all our teachers–is the staff pot-luck lunch next Thursday. Stratton families, please sign up to contribute to this amalgamate meal! In years past, our teachers have feasted on family specialties from around the globe, and been gloriously happy to do so. This is our major Teacher Appreciation Event of the YEAR–and we need major parent participation to make it awesome.
Next week we’ve also got a big all-member PTO meeting on Tuesday night. Please come hear about how we’ll be wrapping up this school year, and vote in next year’s new PTO Executive Board! We need a quorum, so be sure to make room in your schedule for this important meeting.
And last but not least, we have the annual Book Swap next week! We love the book swap–we get to clean out our kids’ bookshelves, and see their excitement when they bring home a stack of new (to them!) books to read. This is a great opportunity to spend some time at Stratton–we need help setting up, guiding students to books they might like, and packing up. Kids can help with the after-school jobs on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, so be sure to check out the book swap sign-up genius.

Teacher Appreciation Week: All-School Events
The Stratton PTO will be celebrating the wonderful Faculty at Stratton School during Teacher Appreciation Week May 7-11.
To kick off the special week, the PTO will host a yummy breakfast for all faculty on Monday, May 7. On Thursday, May 10 we will hold our traditional Pot Luck Luncheon. If you can volunteer or bring in items, please sign up here . To conclude the week, teachers will enjoy a sweet treat on Friday.
Stratton Book Swap
The Annual Stratton Book Swap is next week! Please bring in your donations by May 8th. Donations bins are all around the school! Donations in decent shape are welcome (please no board books). We are especially in need of books for 3-5th graders.
The Swap will be during school hours Wednesday May 9, 2018 in the school library. Each class will have a chance to visit and every child will take home some great new (to them!) reading material.
We need parent help! Can you help set up after school on May 8? Can you assist students with selecting books during the swap on May 9, or help clean up after? Please consider signing up here.
